They say this is the first full recoding of a song that started my love of ragtime, the Boston pops, of jazz and swing music. So I present to you all my knowledge to bring you the best sound I have to offer. This album is probably an mis to early forties re-issues since the next big recording of Rhapsody in blue didnt take place until 1947. Most recording before this one were abbreviated arrangements played by the Paul Whitman Orchestra and George Gershwin so that it would play on one 78 Rpm record. This is a find lol. I piano styles from ragtime to boogie woogie. And this is the earliest example of Boogie Woogie that I have. The style existent since the late 19-teens but did not get recorded until the late 20s and it didnt become popular in pop music till the 40s So please enjoy. Another great band from the 1940s that was integrated (Black & White). This keeps it out of the Swing limelight but made for some incredible swing music. I love the 1920s if you havent figured that out by now. An I love hot dance band arrangements, but what strikes me about this records is that it features a Goofus saxophone well technically not a sax but looks just like one. Listen for it in the second chorus it sound very much like a small accordion. Its a fun piece and Im happy to be able to share it with you. Pathe records and phonographs were made out of France from two brothers that saw the potential in an early Edison cylinder phonograph. Pathe records are know for both center start and vertical cut (up and down sound waves) records that were only playable on Pathe phonographs. But late in the 1920 they started production on lateral (side to side sound waves) cut records for American phonographs. This is one of those records and you can listen to the high level of attention taken during recording as I did not apply any noise filters to this record. And interestingly enough the record is in pristine condition I dont think any played this record very often thinking they needed a Pathe machine. This record company started as a used records distributor in the 1940s and by 1947 hit upon a idea. The company was based in Hollywood California and was a teeming festering bed of talent and had many people out to make a quick buck. The company would record 4 song unto a vinyl record and these records would have the number I hits on them. But the genius of this plan was to have the songs covered by the eager talent of Hollywood. These Talented people would earn every dollar by copying the sound of the original artist. That would explain when I tried to look for information of this band I couldnt find anything it was if the band never existed and after research the records company that is what I found out. My interpretation of George Olsens music is that it smack dap between Paul Whitemans Mainstream symphonic jazz and The Collegiate sound of the late 1920s. Its sweet but subdue catchy and with a hypnotic rhythm that calls all feet out to dance. Thank Fallout 3 for making me comb the shops and attics of Albuquerque for finding this song. The Response was so positive for Civilization Aka Bongo Bongo Bongo that I spend four hours a local antique shop. Hidden in the country western 78s was this record. The ink spots a popular group in which my favorite song was Java Jive but now its this record Im presenting for you. Since Shellac records are an inert material its not susceptible to Data Wiping Electromagnetic waves that Atom bombs put out. That would wipe out all music not made stored in organic materials. Zefren Presents Hot Louis Armstrong Dance band Recordings

I normally i wouldn't bother with a 33 1/3 RPM record but there is a lot significance to this 1950 Brunswick Re-issue I hope someday to find the 78 RPM recordings of the these two songs. The re-issues should be played on a flat level pre amp because modern equipment and Equalization curves were not standardized till 1954. I treated the recordings as a 78 and slowed both records down 8 % and Im happy with the results. My basis for slowing the recording two parts, the recording seemed way too short and the tuba sound too bright. After playing the tuba for many years i slowed the recording till the tuba sound natural. With every Swing era 78 RPM record I come across Im further sadden at the differences between sounds recorded then versus what Modern Companies will reissue now. This record was recorded in 1944 by this time America was in the hot bed of war. To keep the morale up at home songs of duty and nostalgia flooded the market as people longed for the simpler times. In Less than a year after this record those longings would be answered. Forgive the recording the record was on a bottom of a heavily moved stack of records at a record store and suffers from scratches. Sentimental Journey(Les Brown B. This record was recorded in 1942 By this time RCA optimized the EQ curve so dust from the record wont affect the sound as much as the past. This is a 1942 recording with my 1938 RCA EQ curve but at a 1945 turntable speed. Please enjoy. With every Swing era 78 RPM record I come across Im further sadden at the differences between sounds recorded then versus what Modern Companies will reissue now. This record was recorded in 1936 so the Equalization curve is very similar to the 1926 Orthophonic curve. So I offer an interesting hypothesis to the internet. That the recorded sound from the 1930s become Hot under the first wave of 1940s re-issues due to the decade difference in recording technologies. Subtle differences in standardized turntable spend and EQ curves could have made the reissues sound hotter to the American Public. I offer this Bugle Call Rag by Benny Goodman as a 1936 recording with my 1926 Orthophonic EQ curve but at a 1945 turntable speed.
