| Reliant Rebel part 1Sun, 30 Nov 2008 13:50:32 -0800 by waterboostAnyone seen a Reliant Rebel lately? I bought this by accident one sunday afternoon whilst noodling through ebay... This Reliant Rebel Estate was built in 1973, a few weeks before I was registered, just months after the cut off date for free road tax for classic cars... Its wonderfully simple and incredibly british... THE BAD BITS - It has been stood for 8 years and I suspect the engine needs rebuilding, the radiator was in the back... there is no exhaust, just a piece of the manifold remains but other than that...THE GOOD BITS - It looks like a relatively original car, lots of surface rust but no rot or holes... Most of the seals and rubbers are ok, the 66k on the clock doesnt seem unrealistic... The body has a few chips and strange spiders but nothing that cant be fixed...After struggling to free the wheels when we collected the little Rebel, I decided, first job was make them spin freely as it is nothing more than a pushcar at the moment... Wheels off, axle stands on, wire brush out and hammerite on... and most important, something the car hasnt seen in a while... grease, copper grease to be precise.I havent got a clue what I'm doing, never done anything like this before... I do have a few skilled friends who have offered to help but been too busy so far...I feel lucky to be the keeper of this vehicle. It is a celebration of how British engineering used to be... it has already lasted longer than most cars ever could, with a little love and a few 50p's it will be on the road again, but maybe with disk brakes and a more suitable alternator for my stereo and of course a Waterboost Hydrogen System should keep the tiny engine from overheating ;) Related: reliant rebel estate restoration british engineering cherished hydrogen green car recycle |

| Reliant ANT TW9Sat, 15 Nov 2008 16:14:16 -0800 by waterboostForget the Trotters van and ya Bond Bug... If your gonna convert a vehicle to electric you need one of these. Its a 1981 Reliant Ant with 58k on the clock. Engine is missing so perfect for installing a Milk Float Motor... I cant wait to start stripping the chassis and massaging the cab... I'm hoping if I rub hard enough it will go a lovely orange colour! I'm aiming for 150 miles per charge! So... anyone got any batteries? | Lead into Gold - Your basic alchemyThu, 06 Nov 2008 11:57:16 -0800 by waterboostPrescious metals from ordinary lead? Can you transmute elements? Has anyone else tried this?we know that Browns gas will turn common stone into semi prescious stones but has any tried lead? If you heat it once and let it cool, nothing impressive happens... but if you read the old books and texts there are clues, comments about the Holy flame and bold comments saying heat, reheat, reheat... so... in for a penny... I had a go and would you believe it... Something that looks like Gold! I'm sure its not but its a mighty thought provoking party trick... if you go to those kind of periodic table parties :)There are fumes produced so dont do it in a cupboard with a cloth over your head... near an open window or imagine there is a filtered lab extraction unit there... an imaginary one is better than nothing and it worked for us ;) Related: lead gold alchemy prescious metals transmuting elements browns gas hho holy flame |

| HHO Hydrogen and TitaniumThu, 06 Nov 2008 10:46:32 -0800 by waterboostA titanium welding tip heated with a mini HHO torch. It gets hot really quick. Different materials behave in different ways when subjected to a HHO torch flame. Rocks burn and melt into glass but it wont heat water directly? Its really interesting to play with... Next we will be turning lead into gold ;) Related: hho brownsgas titanium hydrogen oxygen water fuel redox |

| DIY Capacitive Battery ChargerFri, 24 Oct 2008 12:11:34 -0700 by waterboostTimes are hard... cant be wasting mon ey on a fancy battery charger so a friend gave me a book by George Wiseman from Eagle Research. The circuit consists of nothing more than a large capacitor and a rectifier. It would appear to be dangerous if you know what stupid people could do with it ;) But it charges anything from 1x 100ah 12v battery to my truck cells (48x 2v 500ah) wired at 96volts.It seems quite fast considering it only has a 3amp fuse on the mains... I only wanted a trickle charger for the 24000ah on the truck to keep them happy during winter. Related: battery charger hho mains power supply pulse diy |

| Electric Truck CamperThu, 25 Sep 2008 08:24:35 -0700 by waterboostJust bought this amazing one of a kind electric truck. I had to have it for a number of reasons, most stupid of all, my name is on it already ;)It has 48x 2volt cells, each rated at 500ah... then there are another 6x 6v 160ah cells for the onboard bits...The main traction battery charger is a 70amp 96volt fast charger... I'm going to connect to my economy 7 (cheap night rate electric) then it can only charge when the elctric is cheap...Just need to fit a few fuel cells and it can power my house...The motor is a 11kW DC, it has an eberspach diesel heater and loads of lights... thats about it so far, but it only arrived last night... | Bike GeneratorFri, 28 Mar 2008 08:13:08 -0700 by waterboostThis is the kids bike generator... Built for an eco type place to show the kids how electricity is made. I wanted to do all kinds of stuff but I had to keep it simple for the adults... No switches or confusions...The bike is fastened to some plywood with some 3x2 to give it strength and allow me a cavity for the wires...The motor is a fan motor from an old car (permanent magnet type)The ribbed pulley for the motor was custom made and the rubber belt was a standard thing from the car spares shop... Now I've made one it seems silly to ride a bike to somewhere when you can stay at home and charge batteries... Related: free electricity bike generator pedal power energy machine |
