WestJet is a Canadian low-cost carrier based out of Calgary, and is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world. The entire fleet of aircraft consists of Boeing 737s. The equipment featured in this video is 737-800 C-GZWS. WestJets Calgary hangars are a half hour drive from my home. I have had the opportunity take a two hour tour and spent some time in a 737-800 cockpit. With the exception of blocked out skylights, the FSX model is an excellent representation of the real thing. WestJet employees all have shares in the airline, and its one of the best airlines to work for anywhere. So the sound track reflects an easy happy feeling.

RAF Eurofighter Formation - Victoria to Comox (FSX)

AFS-Designs in Germany modeled the Eurofighter for a unique formation display. The attitude and behavior is as one aircraft so care was taken in this video to make them appear to have slightly different flight attitudes. The scenery is Victoria Plus by Canadian Jon Patch. So with Germany, Canada and a British aircraft, this video truly contains international flair just as the Eurofighter itself has.

This is an excellent FSX model by AFS-Designs in Germany. MegaSceneryX is terrific scenery that delivers good frame rates. So I combined the two and took the Eurofighter for a Demo flight around the Satellite tracking sites on the west coast of Oahu. I did not spend a great amount of time refining the shots on this so I call it a fun flight.The Eurofighter is an advanced Delta Winged combat aircraft that is capable of mach speed without the use of afterburners. The Eurofighter Typhoon is intentionally aerodynamically unstable to provide extremely high levels of agility, reduced drag and enhanced lift. The unstable design cannot be flown by conventional means and the pilot controls the aircraft via a computerized fly by wire system.This video showcases some the agility of this aircraft.

Stunting with a Piper Cub

I don't know whether our pilot had too many Mai Tai's before taking his Piper Cub out for a spin, but he definitely was not himself. He flew a hair-raising flight around Barbers Point and Electric Beach (scenery by Manny Mahadevan). Then was apprehended by authorities back at Kalaeloa Airport. This short video is actually a frame rate test on some fairly detailed scenery. The scenery passed the test and so why not share the results with you.

Visiting Sacred Falls - O'ahu

A yacht, a helicopter, a canyon and forbidden falls conjure up a decent movie. One thousand foot Sacred Falls is one of O'ahu's most breathtaking scenes. The area has been closed since 8 people were killed by a rockslide. Helicopter tours circumvent the pathways and have been bringing people to the falls for a number of years. If you own a yacht with a helipad and a chopper to go with it, then it would seem natural to make the trip in.You should keep an eye out for the dolphins around the yacht and look the other way when Delta Alpha Delta makes his landing on the helipad.

A Jet Ranger Tours Oahu

This video is about scenery, although I did have to learn to fly the Bell Jet Ranger as it works best for this situation. I installed MegaScenery X for Oahu, then Manny Mahadevan's add-on's for MegaScenery X. Manny's scenery lends some outstanding dimension to MegaScenery's already outstanding work. Near the end is some real eye candy including a rotation from the helipad on a yaght. I apologize to the authorities and my passenger for coming far too close to transmission towers, container cranes and the lousy landing at the air show. Search Google for "Manny Mahadevan FSX" in Google to find scenery package.Remember great scenery like this can take a hit on your frame rates.

The Piper Cub, is one of the most popular and influential light aircraft ever manufactured.In 1938, you could buy an airplane for $1,000 if you bought a J3 Piper Cub. The Cub was a 2 seater which included the pilot. If flown solo, the lone pilot would normally take the rear seat for proper balance, due to the fuel tank located at the firewall. It was used as a trainer in WWII. Over ¾ of the pilots trained in the Civilian Pilot Training Program were trained in a Piper J3. Most of the famous allied leaders in WWII flew in a Cub. Near the end of the war a Cub was produced every 20 minutes. Piper sold 19,073 J-3s between 1938 and 1947. A 1946 model that sold new for about $2,500, today, in good condition, would fetch more than $30,000.

Extra 300S Aerobatics - Victoria BC (FSX)

I have not flown the Extra very much and I usually fly the slower seaplanes. I thought we should spice up the set with some aerobatics. Of course this will be full of errors. The Extra is a great aircraft ... like a thoroughbred. I hope it encourages simmers to try some aerobatics. I even got a hammer head out of it. Many of the regional airports will run airs shows and stop for commercial traffic. You will see this occur with the WestJet 737 at the beginning and the end.

Bedwell Harbour to Roche Harbor -- Amigo Air Beech (FSX)

When I first saw this repaint by Glenn Baker of Milton Shupe's Beech D18S, I thought it was fictitious. Amigo Air and a cool green Beech did not fit. I was wrong. The Beech float plane operates out of Vancouver BC, Canada and will take you to the Gulf Islands for less than $100.00 Canadian. I would pay more than that for a ride in a Beech 18. Only an 11 hour drive from my door. I am thinking hard about this. To see the real Amigo Air Beech, Google C-GGGF. It's a great looking aircraft.

I really enjoyed Milton Schupe's Beech D18S in FS9. A FSX compatible was not available until lately. Miss Maine N712JS is by far my favorite repaint. I took the liberty of having some floats installed as I really like to fly around water. Bedwell Harbour Seaplane port is a busy little place on Pender Islands. It has a customs port status and there are quite a few landings from the USA. I got up pretty early to take a couple of sports fisherman over to Victoria International to catch their flight back to Germany. People come here from all over the world.Looks like we have the sound problem solved on FRAPS. I can hear those Pratt and Whitney's.

Nardi FN.333 Riviera - San Juan Islands

The first Nardi FN.333 amphibian first flew in 1952. SIAI Marchetti produced around a dozen Rivieras during the 1960s. Out of an original production run of just 26 aircraft over six years less only half a dozen are believed flyable today. N95DR was likely the best restored Riviera in the world. Mario Noriega of Italy created the FSX simulation model for N95DRThis video is dedicated to the late owner/Pilots Ken Shea and Egon Fritz.

Evening Flight at Bella Coola (FSX)

My second attempt at recording FSX with FRAPS while trying to fly a plane.Holger Sandmann's scenery is outstanding. The sunset is great. I landed on the front 1/2 of the floats which would have ended the flight in real life.

CF-18 Hornet, Victoria BC (FSX)

CF-18's will fly into Victoria B.C. from CFB Comox. This is my first attempt at creating an FSX Movie so it is a bit amaturish. This was one take with FRAPS. The ATC was dubbed along with the music sound track created in FL Studio. Victoria Plus Scenery was installed. Hope you enjoy this short.
