| Samaritan's Purse Missions TeamsThu, 20 Nov 2008 16:00:56 -0800 by bpshykMissions TeamsSamaritan’s Purse Mission Teams challenge you to serve God globally, on a journey that will connect you with new people, places, and cultures in developing countries. Millions of people around the world live in situations of great need. Samaritan’s Purse Mission Teams give churches and other groups the opportunity to respond to our hurting world. Samaritan’s Purse Missions Teams are designed for groups that would like to participate in short-term missions, while experienced personnel lead the planning, administration, the in-country experience and follow-up. Short-Term Trip with Long-Term ImpactSamaritan’s Purse Missions Teams consists of three components: a construction project, a field medical clinic project, and community outreach projects. We connect our teams with partner organizations in areas where Samaritan’s Purse has ongoing work, to ensure that each team is contributing to a long-term, sustainable project. Samaritan’s Purse is able to provide teams with options ranging from which country to serve in, to the type(s) of projects to work on. Samaritan’s Purse will also handle logistical details such as airline tickets, travel insurance, in-country transportation, and accommodations. Most importantly, we provide a trained leader to guide the team. Our hope is that each person on the team will come away having experienced God in a new and exciting way and return with a deep desire to serve the Lord with renewed passion. | Mitt Romney: Speech 12/06/07Thu, 20 Nov 2008 16:00:19 -0800 by IssueAllianceMitt RomneySpeech, George H.W. Bush Presidential LibraryCollege Station, TX 12/06/07TRANSCRIPT: MITT ROMNEY: And in every faith I have come to know, there are features I wish were in my own: I love the profound ceremony of the Catholic Mass, the approachability of God in the prayers of the evangelicals, the tenderness of spirit among the Pentecostals, the confident independence of the Lutherans, the ancient traditions of the Jews, unchanged through the ages, and the commitment to frequent prayer of the Muslims. As I travel across the country and see our towns and cities, I am always moved by the many houses of worship with their steeples, all pointing to heaven, reminding us of the source of life's blessings.LABEL: MR TX 12-6 (AM#3) P - ClipFTo download a high res. version of this clip, VISIT: https://issueallianc e.box.net/shared/mie c7u0l1dTo download the full campaign event, VISIT: https://issueallianc e.box.net/shared/sor dbrnatt Related: mitt romney tracking texas republicans religion george h.w. bush | |

As the algal mass travels downstream, it disseminates live filaments along the way. The progress of these filaments is arrested on obstructions or on new shoal areas or other sedi- ments downstream, which in this way are themselves colonized. The elevation of algal masses by entrapped bubbles can be observed from about noon until about 2 to 3 p.m. on sunny days in summer and the movement downstream of these floating masses can be observed throughout an entire afternoon. The evolution of current-inhabiting algae. I believe the first attempt to clas- sify the body types of current algae was made by Cedergren (1938). | Travelling on the docklands light railway at nightThu, 20 Nov 2008 15:07:16 -0800 by JackBarnett21It is a fabulous chance to see the docklands 'city' at night time when you travel on the DLR train. However, this 'poor excuse for a railway' is noisy, overcrowded, impossible to see the maps and the noise from the rails is incredible. Whichever government gave the go-ahead for this shambles of a railway - needs their head examined. When around the world there are railways being built that allow the carriages to hover on a cushion of air - how come we are subjected to this heap of junk?Sadly tonight this overcrowded train with its passenger announcements overloud and its passengers yelling down phones with their 'semi' private conversation. Unfortunately i wasnt able to get the wonderful shots of the city that i would have liked. Here are a few lesser shots instead. Related: travelling on the docklands light railway at night | |
