When we landed I was fast asleep the only thing that woke me up was the sound of the guy next to me talking on his cell phone. I walked into the airport and called my mom informing them that I had safely landed. I walked outside it was just perfect weather. Slightly warm but with a light breeze. I removed my jacket since it was so nice. There was a taxi waiting for me already my mom had called in advance to get me a personal cab. I told him I would be right back just had to get my luggage and went back inside. There were so many people in the airport. It was crazy but amazing. I took in the atmosphere then grabbed my bags. A woman even helped me carry them out when she noticed I had so many. See the people are already kind. I could deff. Get used to this. I thanked the lady and got into the cab. Was I supposed to tip her? I thought. I shrugged it off and enjoyed the ride to the boarding school. When we pulled up to what looked like a private Ivy League college I had to catch my breath. Wow this is it? I asked George. (George was the cab drivers name). Yep shore ridge academy. (an: I just made the name up lol). Wow this is ..Ridiculously huge! I said. George must have found this amusing because he began laughing. Dont worry youll fit in here. Just stay out of trouble and youll do fine he said. Thanks for the words of wisdom George. Ill be sure to call you if I ever need advice or just a ride to the mall he smiled and helped me with my bags. Well there should be a counselor coming to meet you here so Ill let you go Thanks George Ill see ya later I waved goodbye and stood amazed in the gigantic lobby. The ceiling had a huge moral painted on it. All the furniture was modern and fancy. I looked out the window and I could see the beach. This was going to be fun. A tall skinny lady with her hair in a bun walked up to me. Either shes a super model or shes the counselor. If shes a model then Id better call aron. hi Im Mrs. Louis Im the counselor you must be zara.I would show you the school but Ive got a meeting to get to so I set up a tour with one of your roommates Katie. Awesome I replied. Suddenly a girl who was about the same height as me with long blonde hair approached us. She was sporting a hot pink tank top and a jean mini skirt with flip flops that had little jewels. I looked down at my run down converse she must have noticed because she looked down at them too. Zara this is Katie. Shes going to show you around and shell be one of your roommates. The lady waved then walked off. Hey. This school is kind of big but I promise its not that bad when you get used to it. She said walking in front of me. She was much nicer then I thought she would be. I guess thats what I get for judging someone before I knew them. Strike one for me. Im sure its no bigger then the schools in your town. Where are you from? she asked. Oh Im from Alaska. And I was home schooled so this is slightly bigger then my living room classroom I said jokingly. She didnt laugh instead she just stared at me. No way Alaska did you have to wear snow gear all the time? she asked. I laughed I was used to this question. No actually I lived on big hundred acre grasslands. But it is cold quite often I said smiling. Oh well Im sure youll like it here she said. I looked around there were tons of kids walking up and down the halls. She led me outside to the courtyard then took me to all the different buildings. Then she showed me to the dorms. All you have to do today is show up to your classes. Since its the first day of school there are a lot of new kids so it might be hectic. Oh and here is the girls dorms buildings and just across the way is the guys buildings she smirked like she knew a secret. There are some pretty cute boys here. She added. I laughed. Well Im just going to get used to the school first I said. Cool well let me see your schedule. She scanned the paper. Oh no classes with me. But you do have P.E with lacie shes our other roommate shes a senior this year. Im a junior. Oh Im a sophomore I said hesitantly. Oh so thats why we dont have any classes together. Well I guess Ill see you back at the dorms later. Have fun she said as she walked away she waved without turning around then flipped her long hair and headed over to a group of her friends. Okay I can do this. I said this over and over as I stood at the door of my first class.
