| Grenade Attack in ThailandSat, 22 Nov 2008 01:06:36 -0800 by NTDTVCHAN: Deadly protests continue in Thailand. An anti-government television program shows pictures of protesters injured in a grenade attack that some say killed one person and wounded 23. Police reportedly threw grenades in among protesters gathered outside the Thai prime minister's office. Let's take a look at this story. STORY: The footage was broadcast by Asia Satellite TV, an anti-government television station, and it shows protesters injured in a grenade attack from the morning of November 20. The Prime Minister's office Compound, where it took place, has been occupied by demonstrators since August. The anti-government television station has been broadcasting live 24-hours-a-day from the occupied government compound since protesters from the People Alliance for Democracy (PAD) group invaded the Government House. The leader of a long-running anti-government street protest, Sondhi Limthongkul, accused the government of having a direct hand in firing the deadly grenade. The dead man has been identified as a 48-year-old, with shrapnel wounds to the chest. 23 others were wounded--the most serious assault on the three month sit-in. Police have little information about the incident because sentries from the anti-government group PAD have barred them from entering the barricaded Government House compound. The PAD is a loose coalition of royalist businessmen and academics trying to prevent former leader Thaksin Shinawatra from returning to power. Thaksin was ousted in a 2006 coup. Its campaign started in late 2005 and contributed heavily to the coup. The group has paralyzed government decision-making and increased the threat of recession in Thailand. Thailand's political temperature has been relatively calm for the last two weeks, but analysts had said the lull would be temporary, so the attack comes as no surprise. Related: ntd ntdtv news |

| What Do Barack Obama Voters Know?Sat, 22 Nov 2008 00:59:40 -0800 by LandofDaFreeIf youve spent more than 30 seconds on You Tube you probably noticed that the overwhelming majority of Obama voters, and by overwhelming majority I mean 99%, think that Sarah Palin is a dumb, corrupt, expletive. They rarely say anything thoughtful, but they think Palin is the one who is an idiot. They portray Sarah Palin as a know-nothing without a grasp of basic facts, let alone a deep understanding of complex issues. Now there is a poll that shows how much Obama voters actually know and the results are absolutely shocking.John Zogby polled 512 Barack Obama voters from 11/13/2008 to 11/15/2008. 55% of the Obama voters polled were college graduates and 80% have attended some college. Zogby asked them 12 multiple choice questions about the candidates. A disturbing 0.5% were able to answer all 12 questions correctly. 0.5%. That means 99.5% of Obama voters have less general knowledge than Sarah Palin which Im sure will make liberals heads explode. Here are some of the highlights:* 57% did NOT know the Democrats control congress, they had a 50/50 chance. * 72% did NOT know Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism.* 82% did NOT know that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot.* 88% did NOT know that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket.* 56% did NOT know that Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground. There is now more proof than ever that journalism is dead in America.
