| Online learning of color and shape in a semi-supervised frameworkSat, 22 Nov 2008 04:58:01 -0800 by b4sili0Lerning the attributes of an object is often problematic or very time-consuming (labelling of the data for training has to be done manually on a high number of samples). We propose a semi-supervised framework for segmenting and labelling objects presented in real-time.First we learn over a couple of seconds a model of the background of a supposedly static camera. Then we show an empty hand in order to create a model of the the skin color. Finally when we know the background and the skin color, we can suppose that everything that is left will be the object we want to learn.Background modeling is done through gaussian modeling on the CbCr color channels (one gaussian per pixel).Hand (skin) color detection is done through mixtures of 3d histograms on YCbCr.Extraction of the object bounding box is done through continuously adaptive mean shift (CAMShift).Work done at LASA http://lasa.epfl.ch in collaboration with IDIAP.
