| UFO destroys wind turbine ? BBC NewsFri, 09 Jan 2009 12:23:32 -0800 by AVIMOASDale Vince of Ecotricity says there is no explanationUFO enthusiasts are claiming damage to a Lincolnshire wind farm turbine was caused by a mystery aircraft.The turbine at Conisholme lost one 66ft (20m) blade and another was badly damaged in the early hours of Sunday.County councillor for the area Robert Palmer said he had seen a "round, white light that seemed to be hovering".Ecotricity , which owns the site, said while investigations continued they were not ruling anything out - but the extent of damage was "unique".The turbine is one of 20 at the Conisholme site, which has been only been fully operational since April 2008. The broken blade has been recovered and is being examined.Local ufologists said they had received many reports of activity in the area and had teams searching for clues.To make one of these blades fall off, or to bend it, takes a lot.Dale Vince, EcotricityMr Palmer said: "I actually saw a white light - a round, white light that seemed to be hovering."That is the only way I can explain it - it wasn't a flare-like light - it was just round, white light with a slight red edge to it that seemed to be over the wind turbines."Dale Vince, founder of Ecotricity, said the company was keeping an open mind about the incident."We don't have an explanation at the moment as to what the cause was," he said."We have been crawling all over it and have sent bits off for analysis to see if we can work out what caused it."Until we have some idea, some plausible explanation that it was not a UFO, I don't think we should rule it out".He added: "To make one of these blades fall off, or to bend it, takes a lot."Numerous reportsRuss Kellett, from the Flying Saucer Bureau, said witnesses had told him of activity in the area."One saw what they at first thought was a low-flying aircraft on the Saturday evening and another heard a loud banging in the early hours of Sunday," he said."This is the second most reports of activity we have ever had - I have had over 30 phone calls and emails."To hit two of the blades, any object must have been about 170ft long."But some technical experts have suggested a more mundane explanation.Dr Peter Schubel, from the University of Nottingham, is an expert in the design and manufacture of wind turbine blades.'Military activity'He said that if the turbine blade was still, it would take the equivalent of a 10-tonne load to do that kind of damage, but if it was rotating, or hit by a moving object, the force could be a lot less.He said of the possible cause: "It's definitely not a bird. (CBS) ?Strange lights were seen hovering over Morris County in New Jersey on Jan. 5, 2009.Was it a UFO or is there an explanation for it?Strange, red, blinking lights could be seen across Morris County, N.J. on Monday night, and officials thought they had figured out what caused them.Now, they're not so sure.Between 8:30 and 9 p.m., the Hurley family in Whippany captured images of a bizarre object in the sky and contacted CBS station WCBS-TV in New York City."It was unsettling for sure," said Cindy Hurley. "It was something you've never seen before, and a very strange pattern."Eleven-year -old Kristin was the first to spot them, a group of three lights together, and two lights together, seen in the horizon through the trees. "I looked up outside. I was really scared and saw five red lights," she said.The family all went out onto their deck to look at the strange sight. Paul Hurley, a pilot who works at Morristown Airport, said they weren't planes."I've been in aviation for 20 years and never seen anything like it," he told WCBS-TV.Paul was one of several people who e-mailed WCBSTV.com after witnessing the lights."Red lights in the sky over the Morristown-Morris Township area, 5 red lights in a weird pattern over the area," one viewer wrote."The formation of 5 lights were first noticed over Cedar Knolls and then as they approached the Madison/Morris Township border the rear half of the formation slowly faded and appeared to drop from the sky and then the front part of the formation went out one by one," wrote another.At 8:28, the Hanover Township police received the first of seven 911 calls."It looks like flares attached to balloons," said a caller.Paul Hurley, who called the Morristown Airport control tower, says the lights had also been spotted from there, and they caused no interference with flight operations. Between those officials and the Morristown Police, the best guess as to what the lights were: nothing more than a prank, roadside flares attached to helium balloons. Experts indicate that the UFO gangues were formed about 300 million years ago.The UFO gangues were found in an abandoned heap of gangues. There are several coal mines around the heap. Gangues are the abandoned materials left after the coal has been extracted from the rock. Among these UFO gangues, several of them have diameters over 4.9 feet and thicknesses between 7.9 inches and 23.6 inches. They weighed between 1764 pounds and 1 ton.An engineer from the Shangrao Coal Bureau suggested that the ages of the UFO gangues are between the Paleozoic Late Carboniferous and Early Permian, so they're about 300 million years ago.Three Gorges UFO Stones Line Up NeatlyThe UFO stones appear not only in Jiangxi, but they were also found near the Shuibuya Dam Project of the Sichuan Three Gorges Reservoir. The UFO stones there weigh about 44 pounds each.Local villagers who were building the inter-village highway there found these UFO stones. The stones were located near Big Cave Bay in Shanlicheng Village of Badong Shuibuya. Big Cave Bay is a natural cavern. There's a clear stream flowing outside of the cavern. Xiang Zhiyu, a Qizu Village resident who worked on a section of the inter-village highway, found these strange stones when he was blasting the rocks near the Big Cave Bay area.The UFO stones were lined up horizontally about 1.6 feet apart and are evenly distributed. It was reported that UFO stones have an especially hard texture. | "A spectacular display of dozens of UFOs has been reported in the skies over the West Midlands UK,"Sat, 20 Dec 2008 12:06:42 -0800 by AVIMOASsky news.UK, Friday December 19, 2008 Eyewitnesses told Sky News that up to 70 bright circular objects could be seen near Halesowen.Stunned residents watched in disbelief, convinced they were viewing an extra-terrestrial spectacle.Each object was encircled with lights and had lights in the middle, according to witness Steven Randall who lives in Halesowen with is wife and three children.He said: "This was incredible and so spectacular. The lights seem to climb into the sky to the north of us, just before 8pm last night."A neighbour had shouted for us to come and look. There were so many objects. From a distance they looked like bubbles rising in a fizzy drink.Then they came towards us and flew right over the top. Some were so close they were almost touching and were only a hundred feet or so above us."The objects were absolutely silent and travelling at probably twice the speed of a normal aircraft."They were all circular and had 13 to 15 lights around the rim. Each had lights in the centre which were flashing on and off. They went south at a terrific speed."Birmingham International airport is to the east of the sightings, but according to Mr Randall, the flight path comes nowhere near the houses."Aircraft are not allowed to fly over this area. We regularly see air traffic in the distance and I can assure you that this was something very different," he said.Air traffic control at Birmingham International airport had nothing on their radar to suggest anything out of the ordinary.A Ministry of Defence spokesman said that independent experts have concluded there are straightforward explanations behind alleged UFO reports, such as aircraft lights or natural phenomena.Reports of UFOs were examined by the MoD solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity.If required, sighting reports are examined with the assistance of the Department's air defence experts. Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, no further work is undertaken to identify the nature of each sighting reported.The MoD has no other interest or role regarding UFO matters and does not consider questions regarding the existence or otherwise of extraterrestrial life-forms.Eyewitnes s Steve Randall believes defence officials will be very interested when they see the video. | ufo!Strange looking one removed from all websites a few years agoFri, 19 Dec 2008 20:11:48 -0800 by gonadmooreI reposted this up on the internet. I came across this about 1-2 years ago & it was removed from every website it was hosted on. There was also a clip posted up which featured the voice over talents of Graham Brisdall the late editor of UFO magazine UK which featured a video analyst being blown away by the craft & the footage. Apparently this craft has NO line of symmetry which as any pilot will tell you by our laws of physics means the ship shouldn't fly at all. There were other features aswel which I cant recall off hand. Brilliant piece of footage & thanks Avimoas for posting this one back up.
