With all songs produced, arranged and composed by Andre Ajamu Akinyele, bandleader and bassist, this marks as their fifth album. This is Gemini Souls most political and social conscience collection to date.Dark Skin Babies : The Movement features three cover songs by some revolutionary artists such as MeShell Ndegeocellos Al-Falaq 113 taken from her jazz effort The Spirit Music Jamia : Dance of the Infidel album; Herbie Hancocks Chameleon taken from his Head Hunters album; and Princes All The Critics Love You In New York taken from his 1999 album. Gemini Soul makes each song their own by infusing what they call The Cyber Jazz Sound.Gemini Soul, which consists of Andre Ajamu Akinyele, Jon OBergh, Andrew Foster and Alex Marks have expanded once again by adding special guest Waahid Jones on saxophone and additional percussion. Ajamu Akinyele states I feel this album will be appreciated by lovers of real music without boundaries, artists and likeminded individuals who think outside the box.Disc 1 has more of an experimental Latin jazz fusion flavor with songs like Reparation, Dark Skin Babies : New Vibe, and Finger Print; whereas Disc 2 has more of a 70s jazz funk vibe with songs like Right On, Barack & Michelle, and The Movement Pts. 1 & 2. Don't be surprised if you have one fist in the air by the end of the album. This album isn't just creatively innovative, but spectacular from beginning to end. Gemini Souls Cyber Jazz is here to stay and they continue to redefine jazz for a new generation. | R.I.P OYELEKE AKINYELE OLUNLOYOMon, 22 Dec 2008 22:50:16 -0800 by KeminicationsMediaOyeleke Akinyele Olunloyo was killed in a pedestrian accident in Birmingham, England in 1999. He was struck by a drunk driver at 8.10 pm on the evening on 12/21/99 as he was about to cross over from his college dorm to a laundromat to pick up his clothes. He had just arrived at Bournville College in Birmingham for college as an IT major. Looking forward to the Y2K hype, he had his laptop with him at all times. It was found by the side of the road scattered with his cell phone, glasses and shoes. I have those Versace boots with me till today. They were brand new and was just purchased that day. He was put on life support immediately as he was in a coma and was declared brain dead within hours. His life support but was later removed two days later on 12/23/99. OYELEKE'S HEART LUNG MACHINE WAS THE LAST TO BE REMOVED. AS OTHER ORGANS TUBES WERE REMOVED AND WE HIS FAMILY WAS GATHERED BY HIS BEDSIDE WITH HIS PASTOR, SOMETHING PHENOMENAL HAPPENED! Every tube was removed one by one. His respirator disconnected--he stopped breathing, his feeding tubes removed--he stopped eating, finally his heart/lung machine was removed last and his heart stopped! In a span of 30 seconds, OYELEKE SMILED AND HIS FACE WENT BACK TO SLEEP........GOODNIT E, GOODBYE, WE WILL FOREVER MISS YOU OYELEKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
