His work, especially in partnership with fellow Belgian Johan Gielen, have produced some of trance music's biggest hits. He has been successful as a solo artist and also as a partner in several collaborative efforts.At the age of eighteen Sven played in an eccentric group of musicians that performed under the name "Mea Culpa". It was during one of their performances at a Belgian contest for rock bands that he was noticed. The yearly event is called Humo's Rock Rally and he was approached by Geert Blanchart, who competed in short track speed skating at the 1994 Winter Olympics. Blanchart, in turn, introduced Sven to a friend of his. That friend was Olivier Adams and was already established in the music industry and was known for their synthesizer work with the acid band Lords of Acid.It was the interest of Olivier Adams that helped Sven keep moving in a successful direction with his music. The use of Adam's recording studio helped Sven by allowing him to tape several tracks under a few aliases.Adams too was the one that introduced Sven to Antler-Subway Records. This is the time that Sven met Johan Gielen. The two paired up to produce tracks as Bodyheat and Airscape. A significant portion of Sven's composing and production work was done with Johan Gielen. They worked together as Svenson & Gielen for more than a few years. The Airscape remix of Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan 's "Silence" is the duo's biggest hit, although their remix of Delerium's "After All" was successful. It made it's way onto several compilations like the Euphoria series of compilations.It was when their contract with Antler-Subway expired that the rapid successes came one after the other. The duo hooked up with Dutch dance organizer ID&T and started to produce for them. The first track was the epic "The Beauty of Silence". La conocen en varias partes del Mundo por fundar Lilith Fair, un tour de cantantes femeninas a finales de los 90 (1997 - 1999).Delerium es un grupo de música canadiense, fundado en 1987 en Vancouver, parte del proyecto Front Line Assembly, actualmente formado por Bill Leeb, Rhys Fulber y Chris Peterson. La música del grupo es de influencia industrial con ritmos góticos, sin embargo ha alcanzado ritmos que abarcan los generos de electrónica, pop y new age.En un principio Delerium sería un proyecto de dos miembros, pero al curso del tiempo se fueron agregando más integrantes, pero el único que ha permanecido fijo en el proyecto ha sido Bill Leeb. Antes de 1986, Leeb había colaborado para otro grupo llamado Skinny Puppy y había creado su propio proyecto llamado Front Line Assembly, que tenia como colaborador Michael Balch. En 1987 lanzarón el primer disco de Delerium que es Faces, Forms, & Illusions. Al principio Delerium era una idea de la música sobrante de Front Line Assembly, pero poco a poco fue tomando importancia alcanzando el grado de ser el más importante junto Front Line Assembly. Hacia el álbum Karma , Rhys Fulber se retira del proyecto, quedando solo Bill Leeb junto con Chris Peterson Corn Dog. The two man group dissolved in 2004, each going solo.The name Airscape was first used by Sven Maes for work with other producers, mostly Jos Borremans. Maes & Gielen started producing together in 1994 under the alias Body Heat. It wouldn't be until 1997 that they would resurrect the Airscape name, and until 2000 that they would become known as Svenson & Gielen.They are known for the song "L'Esperanza", which reached the German Top 100, but are perhaps better known for their remixes, such as Sylver's "Turn the Tide", Vengaboys' "Kiss (When the Sun Don't Shine)",[1] Chicane's "Halcyon", and Mythos N' DJ Cosmo's "Hymn". Their remixes have a distinctive and easily recognized style; they fade in and out looped vocals, overlay simple chord patterns on a fuzzy-sounding synthesizer, and almost always cut the bass and drums about halfway through the song to bring an ostinato to the foreground before returning to the main theme. Similar elements can be found to a lesser degree in their original music as well.One of their most well-known remixes is that of the Delerium song "Silence", which was used as the lead single release and in the music video of the song when it was re-issued in 2000, reaching the top 3 of the UK Singles Chart.In 2003, Maes and Gielen announced they were dissolving Airscape, each going solo. This is the last mix i'll be doing with iMovie, and after this hopefully i'll be able to transition songs better. Anyway, this mix includes the more uplifting side of trance, more light and cheery songs. Every single one of these songs is seriously amazing, especially feelings won't fade, my username :) also, i went on a sunrise rampage for the videos.
