Many pretend to see past them or act as if they have no impact. Some people learn from them, and for those that do, I want to find ways to help them feel better and eliminate the remaining discomfort.Baptism and passing the buck may work for the religious, but for atheists a more sensible, caring, and reality-based approach will be needed. People need to have a way to get through their mistakes without jail, rehabilitation programs, or isolation. It seems that they could benefit from a public ceremony that signifies the moral growth they've experienced and the lessons learned.What will we use to provide that feeling for atheists who suffer in this way?
