| Becoming Reality Chp 24: Backstage Part 1Wed, 07 Jan 2009 10:05:33 -0800 by skatingjbfan08so my brother had a snow day today which means he's home :( lol and i went skating this morning and i was the only one there (plus my coach) it was cool lol :)Devon's P.O.V.The next day was pretty relaxed for Sam, Sara, and me. The guys were rehearsing the whole day and since it was the first concert of this tour there was some extra stuff that needed to be done. So while the boys were off doing there thing the three of us hung out backstage and chilled."Can you believe this?" I asked"Yeah I know, my two best friends are dating Jonas Brothers and I'm not," Sara said. I couldn't tell if she was joking or serious."It's ok," I said."Yeah, plus you and Nick are best friends and are super close, like you've known each other your whole lives," Sam added."I know, I was joking, although it would be nice. I have Jesse anyways who is amazing. Which reminds me I should go check and see if I can video chat with him. Do you guys mind?" Sara asked looking at us."Of course not," I said as Sara took her laptop and went and sat against a wall. She started chatting with Jesse and from what I could tell from across the room everything was going great between them."Mind if I go read for a bit?" Sam asked me."No, that's fine," I replied."K, see you in a bit," Sam said as she went to go find a quiet place to read.I took out my iPod and put the volume on max so I could listen to it without putting my headphones in. I put my iPod on a chair and almost instinctively I started choreographing a skating routine to the music. As I was "skating" Joe walked in, they must have had a break from rehearsing."What are you doing?" Joe asked me curiously."Um, skating," I replied only slightly embarrassed, I mean it was only Joe."Wow, your dedicated," he told me."Yeah, skating is pretty much my life, I don't know what I would do if I stopped skating. I guess its kind of like you and your music," I replied."Wow, what's the longest break youve taken?" he asked."Three weeks when I went on my trip to Europe, but usually anything over a week seems like a long time," I responded."So the next two months are going to be tough aren't they," Joe commented."Yeah, but I'm with you in Europe, I'm sure I'll keep myself occupied," I said with a smile."I'm sure, but I will try to set up some time so that you can skate. I wouldn't want you to forget everything you've learned," he said smiling. "You did bring your skates right?""Of course. I brought them on the slight chance I would be able to skate," I said. I hadn't been able to convince myself to leave my skates home for 2 1/2 months, that would've been depressing. "You know your the best, right?""Yeah, I know," Joe said with confidence and I just laughed and gave him a kiss as he was called back to rehearsal and I went back to my music.It was soon time for the concert to start so we went and took our seats. We had decided that we would watch the first concert from the audience and then we would probably watch the rest from backstage. Namra and Amanda soon joined us."Are you guys excited?" I asked, which was probably a stupid question."Totally. We're pumped! This is our first Jonas Brothers concert," Amanda told us."Don't worry, they're always great," Sam replied."How many concerts have you guys been to?" Namra asked us."This is our third," Sara said.The boys did not disappoint. The concert was absolutely amazing. There was never a dull moment, the five of us were up and dancing the whole time. Joe told the story about how he tried to make the guards at Buckingham Palace laugh and the whole audience was laughing. After the show was over we all went backstage. We hung out there for a bit and eventually went back to the hotel. I really wish he didn't. I saw Kevin and some girl in bed. Naked. I was starting to feel sick.Sadie: Oh god. I held my stomach. I felt like I was going to throw up. Kevin wrapped his sheets around him and got off the bed. He made his way towards me and put his hand on my face. Tears starting to form in his eyes. I was furious.Sadie: Don't touch me. God knows what you were doing with those hands before I came in. I ran into the bathroom and threw up.Joe: Elise.. get off of my fucking tour bus now.Elise: Okay... sorry. She got off the bed, got dressed and gave Kevin a kiss. Before she could walk off. Joe noticed something shiny on her finger. He grabbed her arm and pulled her back. Joe: Who gave that to you? He said through gritted teeth.Elise: Oh, Kevin gave it to me! You like?Joe: Yeah.. pretty. He said.. obviously starting to get angry. Joe let go of Elise's hand and turned his attention over to Kevin. Kevin was about to say something when Joe punched him in the face, making him fall to the ground.Joe: I have nothing to say to you... except, you really screwed this one up man. Kevin watched Joe walk away and fell backwards onto the floor. Kevin: What have I done?*Sadie's POV*As I lay here on the bathroom floor, thinking about what just happened. I can't even believe that I still love him. After everything that just happened. I still loved him. I kept thinking about the first time we... you know. That night was amazing.. so special. It meant everything to me. And seeing him sleep with someone else when we weren't officially broken up.. it broke my heart. I'm suddenly starting to think that maybe that night didn't mean as much to him as it did to me. All the times we said I love you. All the times we kissed. All the times he made me blush. All the times he complimented me. Was everything a lie? I moved away from the toilet and leaned my head against the wall. I started to get more and more angry as I played the moment over again in my head. I wiped my tears and bursted out of the door. I started walking out when Kevin called my name.Kevin: Sadie. Wait.Sadie: I have to go. I simply said not turning around. Not stopping. He grabbed my hand and pulled me into him. Kevin: Please.. He was now crying. When you weren't here I was a mess. I need you. I love you. Sadie: Kevin. Back up off me. Now.Kevin: No... I'm not letting go. I can't lose you again. I love you too much. Sadie: Really Kevin?! Really.. do you? Cause if you did.. you would've understood why I left. You wouldn't have wanted to take a break. And you wouldn't have been sleeping with that girl! How do you think it makes me feel?! I was now crying. Tears pouring down my face. I can't even believe you! What happened to the Kevin Jonas that I loved? Where'd he go?Kevin: He's right here. Sadie, I love you.Sadie: No.. he's not. But, when he comes back... give me a call. I ripped my arm out of his grip and ran off the tour bus. I heard Joe call my name. Multiple times. But there was no way I was stopping. I kept running for what felt like hours. I finally stopped to try and catch my breath, and all of a sudden I felt dizzy. I might have been because I haven't eaten since last night. I was too nervous to eat anything today. Everything started spinning. Oh man. Before I could get to my phone. I collapsed on the grass. Close (Pt. 1.2)About two weeks have passed since that day at the park. Me and Lyndsey are like best friends now. I know it has only been a short time, but I have never felt this way about someone before. It was magical. After what happened with Amber, I still don't believe in love. But...I think I'm getting there. I think about her constantly. She is so...amazing.I picked up my guitar and I sat on my bed. I started strumming an unfamiliar tune. I got a song idea. I grabbed my notebook and a pen. I wrote down some lyrics. (Inspired by Lyndsey) and after about an hour, I had a song. I titled at the top of the piece of paper: Gotta Find You. My cell phone rang. I answered, "Hey Lynds what's up?" I said, putting my guitar down. "Can I come over? We can like, watch a movie or something." She said. She had me at 'can I come over' I smiled. "Yeah sure!" I said, probably a little too quickly. "Okay, see you soon." she said hanging up.Pssh! Like I was going to let her walk here by herself! I slipped on my converse and ran out the door. I caught her, just as she was about to leave her house. "Hey." I said informally. "I was going to YOUR house!" she said, smiling as she shut the door. "Well," I said casually, "I was in the neighborhood so..." She interrupted me by scoffing and rolling her eyes. "Come on dork." she said, linking her arm with mine. I thought the electricity would at least die down a LITTLE bit but no such luck. It's like it gets more and more powerful everyday. I didn't mind anymore though. I still would occasionally wonder if, at the slightest chance, she felt it too. "Oh, hold on a sec." she said, as she ran into her backyard. I cautiously followed her. She ran through the yard to shut the sprinklers off. I noticed a guitar on her balcony. Almost identical to mine. I had no idea she even played. God she amazed me. Afterwards, we walked to my house. It was getting easier to talk to her, but my heart still skipped a beat when I got too close to her. "So..." I started as she walked over to sit on my couch. "What do you want to watch?" I bent down to look at my Cd collection. "Do you have any home videos?" She asked. Crap. "Uh yeah." I said as I opened the small cabinet doors to my credenza that the tv was sitting on. I grabbed a random one and popped it in the old Vcr. "No laughing." I said as I sat about a foot away from her on the couch. "Promise." she said and giggled. "I want to see how you grew up." she said again. She stood up and turned the volume up on the tv. She sat about HALF an INCH away from me. She leaned back, causing me to also. Our arms were resting against eachother. It felt so amazing and tingly. I smiled.On the video, me and Kevin were playing guitar while Nick started to sing. "When you look me in the eyes, and tell me that you love me, everything's alright." I started to sing with him, "When you're right here by my side." I glanced over at Lyndsey. She looked...really into the video. I started mouthing the words to the song we were singing in the video. I remembered how Kevin taught me to play the guitar, how Nick wanted me to sing with him for the talent contest and I turned it down, then I remembered how we used to put on small shows for our parents. I hadn't even realized that this whole time, Lyndsey was trying to get my attention. "Joe!" She yelled. I snapped out of it. "Sorry." I mumbled. I looked back at the video. "I didn't know you sung." she said, smiling. "And you're really good at the guitar." she looked at me. "Ha," I said, "I'm not HALF as good as my brother Kevin. He taught me to play." I pointed at him, "That's him. And that," I pointed at Nick, "is my little brother Nick.""They look like you...where is you family?" she asked, looking around the room. "Don't worry," I said, "nothing bad happened. They're in Florida for a year because Nick won a national talent contest. The prize was tickets to Florida." I shrugged. She looked surprised...or confused...I couldn't tell which. "Why didn't you go too?" she asked.I sighed. "Well they were only able to get 4 tickets, so I volunteered my self out. It was when I excluded myself from the rest of the world." I chuckled. "And I'm not really the singing type." I lied smoothly. "I'm sorry you couldn't go with your family." she said, placing her hand firmly on my wrist, as if she were trying to comfort me. I got goosebumps. "I-well-I-um..." I studdered like a complete moron. I hated it how the simplest touch of her hand would crash my train of thought. "I mean...It's okay...I guess. I mean it WAS my fault for letting a break-up take control of my life." I said. Damn, I was late. I park my car and I run to the pier. I look around, and I see Manson in the exact same spot as she was the first day I saw her.I come up behind her and I cup my hands over her eyes."Joe, you're late." She says. I take my hands away from her eyes. She turns towards me."Sorry." I say. "I lost track of time, and it takes a long time for me to get ready."She sighs. "This time, I forgive you."I laugh. "So, what do you want to do?""I don't know," Manson says and looks up at the sky, "It looks like it's going to rain.""I know." I say. "Do you want to get some ice cream?""Yeah," She smiles. "I'd like that."Her and me walk towards the ice cream shop. Then I hear someone scream, "Oh my gosh, it's Joe Jonas!""Shit." I say, under my breath. "Manson, we have to go."A swarm of people surround Manson and me."Manson, grab my hand. When we find a gap in the crowd, we're going to run." I say. "Yeah, anything to get away from these people."I turn back around and run for it.Everyone in the crowd starts to chase us. I run towards the beach stairs. I look back at Manson, who looks tired, and pissed off."You okay?" I say."I'll be fine once we lose the swarm." she says.We run down to the beach, and it starts pouring."Shit!" Manson yells, laughing. "Let's go under the pier!"We run towards the pier. I look behind and everyone has finally given up, and moved on. I look back at Manson who is laughing histarically."Who knew that such a beautiful day would turn into such a crappy one." I say, as I plop into the sand."Yeah, I know. But, I like the rain." Manson says."It is kind of calming." "Yeah," Manson says and smiles. "So, does that craziness happen all the time?""What? The wild fannies chasing me?""Yeah.""It's an everyday thing. Nick, Kevin and I just try to stay away from going out in public as much as possible.""That must suck. How do you hide your personal lives... like... how do you hide from fans when you go out with dates and stuff...?""Well, I know of a few places where I know of that are private. It's very rare in places like that to run into a crazy-obsessed fan.""Ohhs..." "Why do you ask?" I say."Oh... Um... I was just curious." Manson says nervously."Oh... okay." "Umm... how often do you guys tour?""Quite a bit..." I say, kind of curious why Manson was asking me all these questions. "We're just on a long break.""Ohhhs...""Ok ay.
