George Harrison - Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)"Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)" is a song by George Harrison and is the lead track on his 1973 album Living in the Material World. The song was released as a single in May 1973, hitting number one in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at the end of June. Harrison's single replaced "My Love" by his former bandmate from The Beatles, Paul McCartney, at the top of the chart, and in turn was replaced at number one by "Will It Go Round in Circles" by Billy Preston, who played with Harrison and McCartney during the sessions for Let It Be in 1969.Jeff Lynne performed this song at the Concert for George.Brazilian singer Marisa Monte covered "Give Me Love" on her live album "A Great Noise" (1997) (in her version it included a short piece of Janis Joplin's song "Me and Bobby McGee").Dave Davies of The Kinks recorded his version of Harrison's song on his "Kinked" album (2006) (although his version was released earlier on "Songs from the Material World - a Tribute to George Harrison" in 2003).The song was also occasionally performed by Elliott Smith during his concerts. The song was also performed in a Spanish Version by Verónica Castro in 1975Lyrics:Give me loveGive me loveGive me peace on earthGive me lightGive me lifeKeep me free from birthGive me hopeHelp me cope, with this heavy loadTrying to, touch and reach you with, heart and soulOM M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M My Lord . . .PLEASE take hold of my hand, that I might understand youWon't you pleaseOh won't youGive me loveGive me loveGive me peace on earthGive me lightGive me lifeKeep me free from birthGive me hopeHelp me cope, with this heavy loadTrying to, touch and reach you with, heart and soulOM M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M My Lord . . .PLEASE take hold of my hand, thatI might understand you

Cardinal Rex Lawson ~ "So Ala Temen - Yellow Sisi - Love Mu Adure"
Thu, 08 Jan 2009 14:07:19 -0800 by groovemonzter

songs: So Ala Temen - Yellow Sisi - Love Mu Adureartist: Cardinal Rex Lawson & His Mayor's Band of NigeriaFrom the Wikipedia:Rex Jim Lawson (c.1930 - 1969), known as Cardinal Rex, was a singer, trumpeter and bandleader from Kalabari (Ijaw), Nigeria. One of the best-known highlife musicians of the 1960s, Lawson played with Sammy Obot, Bobby Benson, Victor Olaiya, Chris Ajiko, and other Ghanaian and Nigerian musicians and bands. His greatest success came as the leader of the Mayors Dance Band; their recorded hits include So ala teme, Yellow Sisi, Gowon Special, and Jolly Papa. His most popular hit is probably Love Adure, which is still a sure floor-filler in Nigeria to this day.A highly emotional and deep musician, Lawson was known to weep and shed tears while singing his own songs, notably the haunting So ala teme. Sir Maliki Showman, the famous Nigerian tenor saxophonist who played with Bobby Benson, Victor Uwaifo and Rex Lawson, remembers Lawson as always placing music over money. Lawson is famed for his infectious gregariousness, his musical vision, talent, perseverance and individuality.Lawson died tragically in 1971 in a car accident on his way to play a show in Warri, Nigeria.

CHRISTIAN ANDERS - Der Brief
Thu, 08 Jan 2009 13:16:03 -0800 by MusicMeanMachine

"DER BRIEF" - 1976 Freigegeben. CHRISTIAN ANDERS, (* 15. Christian Anders schrieb das Buch The Man W.H.O.

Kahdeksan surmanluotia
Thu, 08 Jan 2009 13:13:38 -0800 by finnhockey

Surmanluotien aiheena on Pihtiputaalla vuonna 1969 verityö, jossa pienviljelijä Tauno Pasanen ampui neljä häntä pidättämään tullutta poliisia. Mikko Niskanen korostaa tv-draamassaan päähenkilöä ympäröivien olosuhteiden merkitystä. Jo avauskuvia säestää Nälkämaan laulu.
