I'm in the middle of my second restoration of a 1974 MGB roadster that I originally bought in 1988. This is the first time the car has been started since October 1998.The funniest part was my wife trying to be funny by being all foul-mouthed since she didn't know she was on video.The first half of this video is trying to get it started. The second half is of the car running and moving under its own power for the first time in over a decade. Still much to do but it's nice to know the engine survived its long hibernation.

Sinds 2008 heeft het MGB-station in Brig een oostelijke uitgang. Deze "Ost Ausfahrt", volgt in eerste instantie het oude uithaalspoor, duikt dan, vlak voor de Simplontunnel, onder de normaalsporen door en komt weer naar boven om daarna via een nieuwe betonnen brug de Rhone te kruisen en daarna, vlak bij de oude ijzeren spoorbrug, aan te takken op de bestaande lijn.Het oude tracé, via Naters, komt hierdoor volledig te vervallen. Voordelen: treinen hoeven niet meer "kop te maken" in Brig, een aantal overwegen in Naters komt te vervallen en voor de bewoners van Naters komt er meer rust.

12282008 1974 MGB GT

1974 1/2 MGB GT needs TLC. 76833 miles on the odometer. Had been sitting outside for some time. Body is straight with light, surface rust on the rear driver's side quarter panel and clear coat chipping. The vehicle has a great provenance - third owner, originally bought in Europe by a Georgia Tech professor and imported to the states in the 70's. It's manufacture date is November 1974 so it's classified as a 1974 1/2. Fresh wiring, NO LUCAS and fresh clutch. Needs TLC, has been sitting for some time in the weather. Needs a good home please. Ideal fixer upper. $3000 OBO
