| 12 (2007) Movie TrailerMon, 01 Sep 2008 17:07:57 -0700 by MovieTrailerNewshttp://www.CentralMo vieNetwork.com/tmd.h tm12 (film)12 is a 2007 film by Russian director and actor Nikita Mikhalkov. The film was presented at the Venice Film Festival, where Mikhalkov was awarded the Special Lion for Overall Work. It is an adaptation of Reginald Rose'a play 12 Angry Men and a remake of Sidney Lumet's 12 Angry Men movie.12 PlotThe jury decides whether a young Chechen boy is guilty in the murder of his stepfather, a Russian military officer. Initially it seems that the boy was the murderer. However, one of the jurors (Sergei Makovetsky) votes in favour of acquittal. Since the verdict must be rendered unanimously, the jurors review the case, and one by one come to the conclusion that the boy was framed. The murder was performed by criminals involved in construction business. The discussion is repeatedly interrupted by flashbacks from the boy's wartime childhood. In the end the foreman (Mikhalkov himself) states that he was sure the boy did not commit the crime but he will not vote in favour of acquittal since the acquitted boy will be subsequently killed by the same criminals. In addition, the foreman reveals that he is a former intelligence agency officer. After a brief argument, the foreman agrees to join the majority. Later the foreman tells the boy that he will find the murderers.12 CastSergei Makovetsky - 1st Juror Nikita Mikhalkov - 2nd Juror Sergei Garmash - 3rd Juror Valentin Gaft - 4th Juror Alexei Petrenko - 5th Juror Yuri Stoyanov - 6th Juror Sergei Gazarov - 7th Juror Mikhail Efremov - 8th Juror Alexei Gorbunov - 9th Juror Sergei Artsybashev - 10th Juror Viktor Verzhbitsky - 11th Juror Roman Madyanov - 12th Juror Alexander Adabashyan - Bailiff Apti Magamayev - Chechen boy 12 ReactionThe movie received mixed critical opinion in Russia and abroad. The Venice Film Festival Jury defined the movie as "confirmation of his [Mikhalkov's] mastery in exploring and revealing to us, with great humanity and emotion, the complexity of existence". Former Russian President Vladimir Putin together with the film crew, Chechnya's President Ramzan Kadyrov and Ingushetia's President Murat Zyazikov watched the film in Putin's residence in Novo-Ogarevo. After the screening Putin remarked, that the film "brought a tear to the eye".On the other hand, many opposition journalists labeled the film as für-Putin, pointing that the main hero played by Mikhalkov is a secret service officer, while a juror, supposedly representing a Russian liberal (played by Sergei Artsybashev), resembles caricature. Another juror (a television producer played by Yuri Stoyanov), is seen by many as a caricature of Russian producer Dmitry Lesnevsky, who is known for collaboration with another Russian director Andrei Zvyagintsev.12 AwardsOn September 8, 2007, the film received a special Golden Lion for the "consistent brilliance" of its work and was praised by many critics at the Venice Film Festival. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.12 Factual errorsIn the United States, where Twelve Angry Men was set, generally juries in criminal cases must render their verdict unanimously, whether "guilty" or "not guilty"; this film follows the same premise. However, in Russia the jury must return a "not guilty" verdict if at least six jurors out of twelve vote "not guilty".en.wikipedia .org/wiki/12_(film) Related: 12 twelve 2007 movie trailer 2008 film preview theatrical short clip nikita mikhalkov makovetsky sergei garmash valentin gaft petrenko yuri stoyanov gazarov mikhail efremov alexei gorbunov artsybashev viktor verzhbitsky roman madyanov alexander adabashyan | |

It's about a high school teacher who sets up an experiment to demonstrate to his students what life is like under a dictatorship, but it soon spins horribly out of control when he forms a social unit with a life of its own. This trailer looks incredible - I'm a bit sad that I missed this at Sundance. It received lukewarm reviews and I never found the time to catch a screening, although it was one I wanted to see. But now that this trailer is out I'm anxious to try and catch it. This is your typical international trailer without any dialogue so as to hide the German language, but it still looks fantastic. Be sure to let us know what you think!Reviews from Sundance praise the film for its "intoxicating power of conformity." James Greenberg from the Hollywood Reporter writes that "the film opens with a rush of energy and doesn't let up." Thoughts? The Wave (aka Die Welle) is both co-written and directed by German filmmaker Dennis Gansel, of Girls on Top and Before the Fall previously. The film was co-written by Gansel and Peter Thorwarth and is based on a novel of the same name written by Todd Strasser. This first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year but never actually picked up a US distributor. If it does find a distributor, we can expect to see this in theaters sometime in early 2009.www.firstshowin g.net/2008/09/01/wor th-watching-sept-1-d ennis-gansels-the-wa ve-trailer/ Related: the wave movie trailer 2009 official theatrical film preview short clip german high shool teacher experiment dictatorship dennis gansel peter thorwarth todd strasser

Real Time CommentsSo I've never posted one of these User Comments, but I had to write about how much I loved this film. The story centers around the two very strong characters of Andy (Baruchel) and Reuben (Quaid). The entire journey kept me captivated from beginning to end (which is no simple feat after a week of festival fatigue) but nothing prepared me for the ending. I have to say, without exaggeration, this film had one of the most perfect and moving conclusions of any film I've ever seen. I won't give anything away here, but I find myself constantly tearing up and moved at the thought of what happens. Now, almost a day later, I still feel its messages and themes rushing through me. Not only is this ending so great, it will probably make a second viewing of this film an entirely different and even stronger experience. My hats off to the writer and director of this film. According to Crowe, the actor did not want to work in an environment that was influenced by budgetary needs.Australia sign boardThe following June, Luhrmann ultimately replaced Crowe with actor Hugh Jackman. The untitled project was scheduled to begin production in September 2006, but scheduling conflicts and budget issues postponed the start of production to February 2007. | NEW Max Payne (2008) Movie TrailerThu, 28 Aug 2008 21:18:15 -0700 by MovieTrailerNewshttp://www.CentralMo vieNetwork.com/tm... Max Payne (film)Max Payne is a third-person shooter video game developed by the Finnish company Remedy Entertainment, produced by 3D Realms and published by Gathering of Developers in July, 2001 for Windows. Ports later in the year for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 were published by Rockstar Games. A Macintosh port was published in July 2002 by MacSoft in North America and Feral Interactive in the rest of the World. There were plans for a Dreamcast version of Max Payne, but they were cancelled due to the discontinuation of the console.A sequel called Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne was released in 2003. As of March 12, 2008, the Max Payne franchise has sold over 7 million copies according to Take-Two Interactive.Max Payne OverviewThe Max Payne series has a major cinematic influence: the Hong Kong action movie genre, particularly the work of director John Woo, which features a great deal of slow-motion violence and gunfights, almost resembling ballet. "John Woo" is in fact the password that the mobsters must recite to enter their laundromat hideaway. The game's stylish cinematography and choreography is combined with heavy film noir, pulp noir, and pulp fiction influences in characters and dialogue. Rather than employing rendered or digitized cinematic movies for cutscenes, the story is told instead with "graphic novels" and narrated in the heavy-handed style of radio detective dramas such as Pat Novak for Hire. The games are dark and noir-style, following Max Payne, a troubled cop with internal and external conflicts in a dark, sinister New York City.Max Payne Sequels and spin-offMax Payne 2: The Fall of Max PayneMain article: Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max PayneAt the ending of Max Payne, he was being led away in the back of a police car, about to face charges for his two night killing spree in which he killed upwards of 600 people, even though they all had criminal records. However, Max was eventually cleared of all charges, thanks to his relationship with a very influential member of society, Senator Alfred Woden. A few years have passed, and Max has returned to work for the NYPD as a homicide detective. However, during a routine murder investigation he finds himself face-to-face with the fugitive Mona Sax, a woman he thought was dead. Max and Mona team up to solve the answers to Max's past that left his wife and child dead. Between them and the answers they seek rests an army of scum and murderous thugs in New York City's underground.Max Payne 3The PC version's ending to Max Payne 2 teases with a message at the end of the credits proclaiming, "Max Payne's journey through the night will continue", but the story itself seems to be over, Max has found peace with his life of guilt and out of both games, Max is one of only two characters left alive (the other being Jim Bravura who survived but was left in critical condition. Mona survives in an alternate hidden ending on the Dead on Arrival difficulty level. It's yet to be known if it's canon. The third game in the series was announced by Jeffrey L. Lapin, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive in 2004. There have been no further announcements regarding the matter -- not even a developer for the third game has been named. Remedy Entertainment's name was mentioned in the announcement. At the same time, a post on Shacknews, apparently from someone claiming to be Mikael Kasurinen, a level designer for Max Payne 2, read "FYI: We are not making Max Payne 3." GameSpot notes the status of the game is TBA.Take-Two Interactive suggested that there will be a Max Payne 3 at some point. While Take-Two didn't announce the game during its conference call, it has brought the franchise up regularly as examples of its stable of owned intellectual properties.http://en .wikipedia.org/wiki/ Max_Payne Related: official max payne movie theatrical trailer game 2008 preview short film clip

It debuted at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. "Our generation makes an effort to separate love and sex," says Gero. "They're all trying to do this thing, and they're all failing miserably ... we're saying, 'Listen, people our age. This is really hard to do without being emotionally involved.'"Young People Fucking PlotThe film intertwines the story of 5 different couples over the course of one sexual encounter, with specific chapters for each one: prelude, foreplay, sex, interlude, orgasm and afterglow. Each couple represents a specific archetype:The Best Friends - Matt and Kristen decide to become friends with benefits, but discover romantic feelings for each other exist. The Couple - Husband and wife Andrew and Abby choose to celebrate his birthday, only to find that their love life was worse than they thought. The Exes - Mia and Eric meet up for a one-off after having broken up some time back. The First Date - Jamie brings her womanizing date Ken back to her apartment. The Roommates - Gord, his girlfriend Inez and his roommate Dave. Gord invites Dave to make love to his girlfriend while Gord watches. Young People Fucking CastAaron Abrams - Matt Diora Baird - Jamie Sonja Bennett - Mia Callum Blue - Ken Kristin Booth - Abby Josh Cooke - Eric Josh Dean - Andrew Ennis Desmer - Gord Natalie Lisinska - Inez Peter Oldring - Dave Carly Pope - Kristen Young People Fucking ReceptionThe movie has garnered favourable critical reviews, with the film site Rotten Tomatoes giving it a score of 80% (as of June 16, 2008) and Roger Ebert giving it three stars saying that it was "(n)ot a great movie, but fun, and the title makes it sound cheaper than it is."The total box office receipts after 4 weeks of release was $420,206.Young People Fucking ControversyMany people have drawn connections between funding of this film and Bill C-10 which proposes that the Canadian conservative government could retroactively strip tax credits from films the heritage minister deems "offensive or not in the public interest". A special screening in Ottawa was well-attended by opposition MPs, although no Conservative members showed up. One staffer for Cambridge MP Gary Goodyear was fired for reserving a ticket in his name without permission. Reviews were generally positive, with Liberal Heritage critic Denis Coderre awarding the film three stars and describing it as a "social reality check." NDP Heritage critic Bill Siksay said, "I had a good time, I laughed a lot. There was some serious exploration of relationships, but it was fun. [...] What I would find offensive is that anybody would try and enforce their own sense of personal taste to prohibit a movie like that from being made." Martin Gero said that, "I think we're an easy target ? we've got a swear in the title. And also no one's seen it. So it's easy for the pro-C-10 people, whoever they are, I've only met one, to say ... this is obviously pornography, we want to shut it down."en.wikipedia.o rg/wiki/Young_People _Fucking Related: young people fucking sex official movie trailer theatrical film preview leak clip teaser cinema martin gero aaron abrams love prelude foreplay interlude orgasm afterglow diora baird sonja bennett callum blue kristin booth josh cooke dean ennis desmer natalie lisinska peter oldring carly pope

It's for a movie named Good starring Viggo Mortensen as a "good" man that is forced to join Hitler's army in Germany during WWII. It doesn't look half bad, which is definitely a good thing, but I'm not sure how it will stand up to meatier WWII films like Defiance, Valkyrie, and Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards. There are almost too many WWII movies on the horizon, but most of them look good, so as long as they hold up. Mortensen looks great as well, but I'm much more excited to see how he does in Appaloosa than this. Anyway, give it a shot yourself and check it out - maybe you'll appreciate it a lot more than I did.Good is directed by Austrian filmmaker Vicente Amorim, of 2000 Nordestes and The Middle of the World previously. The script was written by John Wrathall (Magic Moments) and is adapted from a play by C.P. Taylor. The film will be premiering next month at the Toronto Film Festival. The film is actually a merged version of two films by Soderbergh: The Argentine and Guerrilla. The first part focuses on the Cuban revolution, from the moment Fidel Castro, Guevara and other revolutionaries landed on the Caribbean island, until they toppled the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista two years later. The second part focuses on the years following the Cuban revolution. It begins with Che's trip to the United Nations headquarters in New York City in 1964, until his death in the Bolivian mountains in 1967.Che was screened on May 21 at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival reportedly running over four hours. Del Toro won the Best Actor Award at the festival for his portrayal of Guevara in the film.Che: The ArgentineMain article: The ArgentineChe CastBenicio del Toro plays Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Del Toro confessed he only thought of Guevara as a "bad guy" since he was a child.
