Brandon Manumaleuna: Bird of Paradise
Tue, 16 Dec 2008 11:13:05 -0800 by Jodatoa

Manumaleuna joined the Chargers in 2006 after Bolts General Manager A.J. Smith pulled off one of the biggest steals of the draft, shipping a fourth-round pick to the St. Louis Rams in exchange for his services. Right away, Manumaleuna became a key cog in the Chargers offense, scoring touchdowns on three of his 14 catches, and helping to block for a running game that netted a team-record 2,578 yards and an NFL MVP award for LaDainian Tomlinson.

Haloti Ngata: The Tenacious Tongan
Thu, 11 Dec 2008 21:16:22 -0800 by Jodatoa

There is a reason why the Ravens D ranks #1 against the Run this year. Haloti Ngata! He commands double teams on a constant basis, giving the linebackers much more room to breath and make plays. In essence, he opens the D wide up for the Ravens, in they are able to mix around their blitz packages, with their LB's without worries of the O-Line stuffing them in the face. Ngata is much more agile for a big man then most people think, at times he drops back in coverage to confuse the offense. All in all, this is a Nose Tackle that any team in the NFL would covet having apart of their franchise for a long time. Won't be surprised to see the Ravens extend his contract to a long term deal. Ngata is the cousin of USC Trojans defensive tackle Fili Moala, as well as UNLV Rebels starting guard Sifa Moala. Another of his cousins, defensive tackle Simi Fili, currently attends the University of Oregon and also plays defensive tackle.

Rey Maualuga: An Unyielding Force Of Nature
Thu, 11 Dec 2008 16:56:55 -0800 by Jodatoa

Rey Maualuga is a terror at the middle linebacker spot. He reminds me of another MLB named Ray (although obviously spelled differently), as in Ray Lewis. Although Lewis was much more of a vocal leader and all around a better athlete, Maualuga has that rare ability to dissect plays within seconds and deliver jarring hits.Maualuga would probably have been the 1st MLB/ILB taken in the 2008 NFL Draft, most likely supplanting Jerod Mayo, whom was selected with the 10th pick. Although Mayo is more of an athlete and a more vocal leader, he does not have Maualuga instinctssomething that you cannot teach. Durability is also something that separate Maualuga from other hard hitting linebackers. Deciding to stay for his senior year will more than likely improve his draft stock, similar to ex-teammate Keith Rivers. Although he is a machine, learning how to deal with the media (more important than you think) and improve his overall athleticism (i.e. more interceptions) is something that is better practiced in college than in the pros.He reminds me of another Trojan linebacker, whom also wore #58, Lofa Tatupu in a lot of ways. Both are hard hitting, instinctive middle linebackers that offenses game plan around and running backs run away from. Can Maualuga become another former Trojan that makes an impact? I think so.

Junior Seau: The Tasmanian Devil
Thu, 11 Dec 2008 00:59:22 -0800 by Jodatoa

Seau quickly became one of the most popular players on the Chargers, receiving the nickname "Tasmanian Devil". His well-known "Lightning Bolt" dance (after the Chargers' logo) and fist-pumping after his defensive plays was disliked by opposing teams, but well-liked by fans. He played in 12 straight Pro Bowls with the Chargers, and missed only two games in his first seven years of play. In every season with the team, he was the leading tackler. In 1991, he created the Seau Foundation, which raises money for drug awareness, child abuse prevention, and college scholarships. Seau also owns a clothing line, Say-Ow, as well as Seau's The Restaurant in Mission Valley, San Diego. In 1994, Seau assisted his team to a championship appearance in Super Bowl XXIX, most notably by logging 16 tackles in the AFC Championship Game.Seau re-signed with the Patriots on December 5, 2008, replacing Adalius Thomas, who was placed on IR earlier in the season.Song By, Horseman Family ft.Savage - Rap Game Remix

Wed, 10 Dec 2008 14:35:55 -0800 by Jodatoa

A video of one of NFL's premier Linebackers. More then likely he will follow in Seau's legacy, as one of the greatest Polynesian linebackers to ever play in the NFL. Though he is still young, Tatupu has many more years to show the world he is a Hall-of-Famer at heart, and to prove his critics wrong.Tatupu's rookie season he picked up the Seahawks defense so quickly that he actually was allowed to call all the team's defensive signals. He knew not only his assignments, but his defensive teammates' ones, too.
